Excitement about good customer service.
It is amazing how excited we can get about good customer service. Especially, because when I was little it was expected that service would be good.
We had a good waiter at lunch. He was friendly, he had good direct eye contact, he gave his name, he was polite. He did not interrupt. He did not rush us. But, we knew he was close by. When the kitchen mixed one of the orders, the manager personally delivered the meal to the table. The young man was doing his job and doing it well. I will go back and ask for him.
Will I go back to this place? Yes.
After I got in my car and drove off, I realized that so often customer service in eating places is so bad that when someone is just doing their job and doing it well we are surprised. We should not be surprised. We should always have great service.
Do you provide good customer service in what you do? Do you return calls as soon as you can, do you leave messages that people can actually understand, do you give your name and phone number clearly. Do you send thank you's to people who have done nice things for you...like buy you a cup of coffee.
Let's all try to be better at customer service....maybe it will catch on.
